The AMA Indianapolis Chapter announced today that it has received one of the highest professional chapters excellence awards from the organization’s international headquarters. The AMA’s annual Chapter Excellence Awards program highlights exceptional performance among the organization’s 78 professional chapters across the U.S. and Canada. The Indianapolis Chapter was awarded 2010-11 second runner-up for overall excellence.
The Indianapolis Chapter submitted a thorough and comprehensive entry, which highlighted their accomplishments in leadership, membership and programming. Exceptional performance was noted by the judges in the areas of community and collegiate relations, membership promotion using a creative video interface, and providing numerous and varied events for the members.
“As one of the AMA’s strongest chapters, we feel great responsibility, not only to our members, but to the marketing community as a whole in the Indianapolis area,” commented Indianapolis’ 2010-11 Chapter President Laura Sweeney. “It is our job to provide excellent programming and networking opportunities for our members and guests to elevate the prestige and credibility of the marketing profession. Receiving this honor affords us the opportunity to raise awareness of our organization, and all that we do to support marketing professionals in the Indianapolis area.”
“With 12 dedicated board members, and more than 15 volunteers, we have been able to accomplish some incredible things together,” commented Phil Lewis 2011-12 chapter president for the AMA Indianapolis Chapter. It is very fulfilling to be a part of such a well established and well respected marketing organization like the AMA. I’m thrilled that we have been recognized with this honor, and I know that our volunteers will continue to drive toward future excellence.”
