IndyAMA Board Attends Leadership Summit
I have been an IndyAMA member since 2009 and have been an active volunteer from almost the beginning. I have met people that I can do business with and have made life-long friends. These are just a couple of the many perks I have received by being an active member of the IndyAMA. As a Board Member, I am taking that to the next level and learning leadership skills, developing deeper relationships and giving back to the Indianapolis and Marketing community.
One of the best perks I have received is the chance to attend the yearly National AMA Leadership Summit, held in Chicago. This year, I am excited that 7 of us from the IndyAMA 2013-2014 Board were able to attend. I want to thank each Board Member for sacrificing a weekend away from friends and family. It is truly appreciated.
Those who attended included:
- Mary Catharine Grau, President Elect
- Roland Bydlon, VP of Member Relations
- Andy Teipen, VP Volunteers
- Julie Scholl, VP Programming
- Lavon Temple, VP Communications
- Steven Follis, Treasurer
I think we all came back energized and full of great ideas. We had an opportunity to connect with other AMA chapters across the country, share best practices, learn new ideas, and avoid pitfalls. We also industry, chapter and corporate leaders and picked up valuable leadership lessons along the way. We are now prepared to apply what we learned to IndyAMA in the upcoming year.
I am really looking forward to leading the IndyAMA next year. As a Board, we are going to take the great work that Amanda Borshoff, Lynn Kendall, and all of the other Past Presidents have put in place and continue to build on it.
I am Kim Ross and I am IndyAMA.
