Letter From the President

It’s an exciting time to be a marketing professional. Ours is a profession that has changed 1,000 times over in the past 20 years, and it continues to morph daily. The principles remain the same: know your audience, understand what motivates them, and meet them where they are. But, the specifics certainly have changed over time. The variety of channels, types of communication, measurement tools, even our tolerance for marketing noise and what captures our attention is seems to evolve daily.
In such a changing marketplace, staying relevant and knowledgeable is a challenge—especially for those of us who have been out of school for a while (ahem, me). It’s also a requirement, to serve our employers and our careers. Professional associations, like IndyAMA, play an important role in filling this knowledge and experience gap. IndyAMA takes pride in provide the most current knowledge and marketing trends to our members through content and events, as well as providing opportunities to share knowledge and ideas with each other. Additionally, volunteer opportunities can provide hands-on experience outside of a current role.
Indianapolis has a thriving marketing community, built around our strong service providers, business community, and proximity to outstanding higher education. We hope that you find IndyAMA to be a great resource and encourage you to learn more about membership. Understanding that we can’t be everything to everyone—and don’t want to be, we encourage you to learn about all of the marketing resources in our community.
