Thank you. As we wrap up our IndyAMA 2014-2015 year – our board serves essentially a 13-month term from June through June – appreciation and awe are at the forefront of my thoughts. It’s been an honor to serve IndyAMA and our marketing community over the past year, and I’m endlessly grateful to the individuals – board, volunteers, members – and partners – Outside Source Design, Print Resources, Inc., Willow Marketing, MBO15, Inbound Marketing BarCamp, and Indianapolis AAF – that make the organization possible.
Last June, our board voted on a theme to define our year: Challenge the Status Quo. IndyAMA has been a consistently strong chapter, serving the Indianapolis marketing community since 1937. As marketing and our community evolved, our board wanted to ensure that IndyAMA provides resources that help members grow in their careers by connecting them to each other and development opportunities.
We focused our attention in three areas:
- Bringing in the best speakers for relevant marketing topics – local and national
- Creating community at our events
- Partnering with the extended Indy marketing community
I’m proud to say that we made great strides in all three areas and had a record breaking IndyAMA year. It included over 330 members, 30 volunteers, 19 events including two with national speakers, seven webinars, four community partnerships with Indy marketing organizations and events, as well as a toy drive for Tatum’s Bags of Fun, and one powerful rebrand of IndyAMA.
This may be my last letter, but it’s only the beginning for IndyAMA. We have a thriving community that will continue to grow and provide value to our members as our new year begins. Thank YOU for being a part of it. We look forward to seeing you again in August.
