Volunteer Spotlight – Steven Follis
Meet IndyAMA Treasure, Steven Follis
Member Since: Maybe since 2000. I’m totally guessing. It’s been a while.
Day Job: Director of Marketing, Indiana University Kelley School of Business
What my job entails: I’m responsible for the marketing of the schools graduate level online MBA program. It involves strategy development, measurement and tactical implementation.
What I find most exciting/interesting about marketing: Marketing always seems to be on the cutting edge of the latest trends. As marketing professionals, we are in tune to what is going on in the world and look for opportunities. I also love the new ideas and ways to tackle challenges.
What I enjoy about IndyAMA: The friendships over the years as well as network connections. If I struggle with a problem or situation, advise is just an email away from a person in the IndyAMA I have met over the years. I also enjoy the opportunities to stay relevant with what others are learning or discovering.
What I do for fun: Lift Weights (I’m typically at the gym M-F at 5 am), enjoy theater (the Indiana Repertory Theater productions), music (Symphony on the Prairie combined with being outdoors), hiking, traveling.
You may be surprised to know that…. : I’ve run in every 500 festival mini marathon since 1999. But I have no interest in running a full marathon. The past three years, I’ve not trained for it. I just run it on the day.
