AMA Indy offers a variety of ways for you to get involved by volunteering with our chapter.

Volunteering is a members-only benefit and provides a great way to network with other marketing professionals, hone your skills, and contribute to the Indianapolis marketing community. We have a variety of opportunities and ways to get involved. Below we list a few current needs – and feel free to contact us with other ways you might be able to help out. Content Developer

Reports To: Communications Co-Chair - Dawn Rigby

Description: The Content Developer is responsible for creating blog content that supports the AMA Indy chapter’s programming, membership, and community relations goals.

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per month; August 2018 through June 2019

Responsibilities:

  • Writing and editing content for the AMA Indy blog

    • Attending AMA Indy events and reporting presentation highlights and key takeaways

    • Q&A interviews with presenters

    • Member news

    • Volunteer spotlight interviews

  • Participating in communications committee meetings on an as-needed basis

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing or related field

  • Solid writing, research, and communications skills

  • Detail-oriented with an eye for editing

Social Media Specialist

Reports To: Communications Co-Chair - Christopher Lanciotti

Description: The Social Media Specialist creates and schedules content on AMA Indy's social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. 

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week; August 2018 through June 2019

Preferred Skills:

  • Attention to detail

  • Knowledge of social media strategies

Analytics Manager

Reports To: Communications Co-Chair - Dawn Rigby

Description: The Analytics Manager is responsible for reporting communications KPIs and providing insight and feedback essential to achieving AMA Indy’s strategic communications goals.

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per month; August 2018 through June 2019

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting key performance indicators:

    • Email open and bounce rates

    • Email opt-outs

    • Click-throughs

    • SEO position

    • Website traffic

    • Social media followers

    • Social media posts

    • Earned media impressions

  • Updating communications KPI dashboard and providing insight and feedback on a monthly basis

  • Participating in communications committee meetings on an as-needed basis

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in Digital Marketing, Social Media, or related field

  • Data driven with strong analytical skills
